Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines how Pawverse collects, uses, stores, and shares your information, and the rights you have over your personal data. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), Pawverse is the Data Fiduciary and you (the user) are the Data Principal.

Legal basis: We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you provide when you create an account, book a consultation, or otherwise use our services, and for the legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act (such as providing a service you have requested). You may withdraw your consent at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Name, contact details, address
  • Pet Information: Breed, age, medical history, photos
  • Usage Data: Appointment history, interactions, location data
  • Payment Data: Securely processed by third-party gateways
  • Device Data: IP address, browser type, device ID, cookies

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve our services
  • For booking and managing appointments
  • To maintain pet health records
  • To personalize product/service recommendations
  • To ensure platform safety and prevent fraud

3. Data Sharing

We may share data with:

  • Partner clinics and service providers (only relevant data)
  • Government authorities when legally required
  • Analytics and infrastructure partners

We never sell your personal data.

4. Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, email care@pawversepets.in and we will respond within the timelines required under applicable law.

  • Right to Access: Obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Right to Correction & Updation: Correct, complete, or update inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, unless retention is required by law.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as it was given. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before the withdrawal.
  • Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Right to Grievance Redressal: Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 11) and, if unsatisfied, escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing emails or messages at any time.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain data as long as necessary for platform functionality, legal obligations, or until you request deletion.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. Where we knowingly collect a child’s personal data, we obtain verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not carry out behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at children, in line with the DPDP Act, 2023.

8a. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users in the manner and within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Act, 2023 and its Rules.

We may update this policy. You will be notified through the platform or email of significant changes.
